Sol Republic - 3 reasons for "liking" them

"Sol Republic is a global consumer electronics company dedicated to enhancing people's lives through better-sounding headphones." This is how they describe themselves on their Facebook page, however, what does this company do that it has many loyal fans (such as myself)? I'll give you three reasons why I love Sol Republic as a company, their product and customer service.

A year ago after my Beats headphones stopped working and their customer service gave me a cold shoulder, I had to find a new brand that would satisfy my audiophiliac cravings without breaking my wallet. That's when I stumbled upon a posting on the popular tech-news site engadget.com about the Sol Republic headphones. They offered high quality, nearly indestructible headbands and interchangeable sound engines and cords. Here began my experience with the company.

After ordering the on-ear headphones called Tracks, the company's "SOLdier" group and "Hella republic" representatives on Facebook added me as their friend, the group is dedicated to improving the customers experience, answering any questions and promoting "Savior of Sound" tours where anyone who is a group member can join for free. Last month, you could apply and join the "Saviors" to the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, FL to meet all the DJs backstage or in the SOL tour bus. A few days later, they also sent me a care package that included stickers and a T-shirt.

One of the things I like about my Tracks, is the fact that they provide the same, if not better base and overall sound quality as my old Beats Solo HD at a significantly lower price ($99 vs $199), while also being  much more durable. As previously mentioned, the headphone is completely interchangeable; if the headband breaks, I can order a new one; if the cord rips, I can easily replace it. I definitely couldn't do that with my Beats - they have to be shipped back to the manufacturer to be repaired or replaced. Did I mention about the awesome customer service yet?

When I received the Tracks in the mail, part of the cable was missing, a small plastic piece that controlled the volume on the controller. I immediately called the company number and within 2 minutes, I was speaking with a customer representative that helped me step by step in reporting the issue and filling a questionnaire to receive a new cable - for free, no shipping or handling fees included. They also told me that I still have 2 more "free after sales care" warranties that cover the headband and cable part of the headphone. After experiencing this, I found that they converted me into one of their loyal followers both on Facebook and Twitter. Now, whenever someone asks me about quality headphones that are built to last, I would, without doubt, tell them to give Sol Republic a try.
