Dick's video story - or lack thereof...

Above is the latest video uploaded on Dick's YouTube page. It's just 6 months old with 3,138 views as of this post. The video tells the story of the grand opening of a new Dick's drive-in in Edmond and captures everyone's emotion associated with Dick's drive-in and their burgers. When I break down the story into parts, I see - people telling their past experience of Dick's, why they like Dick's and what they like about Dick's burgers. I wonder about one thing though, how come this video has so few views? Maybe the approach should be different; telling the same story in a different way.

Sadly, unlike their Facebook or Twitter, Dick's drive in does not have much of a presence on YouTube - they have just a little over 5000 total views. I think one way of increasing Dick's YouTube presence would be by making a viral video.By referring to a poll by Esquire where Dick's was voted as the most life-changing burger joint, the video will be about all the satisfied customers.

I imagine the video to be fan made, or a collage of all fan videos and pictures about Dick's with someone telling their story in the background. The video will be all about stories that Dick's helped create, stories of satisfied customers whose life was changed. Like most viral videos, it would probably be 1 to 2 minutes long, it should be relevant, captivating and appealing to some emotion within the target audience. In the end, the video should also address these 3 questions in this order - why? how? what? - is Dick's drive-in all about.
