Say hello to the camera, SIP!

I do not get it why SIP does not have any video of their own on either YouTube or Vimeo. The only search result found when search for SIP restaurant on YouTube is a video posted in 2008 by jjang74 who, I believe, is one of the producers of the video. The video is about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital raising fund(s) for their research. SIP did have a voice in the video expressing that they love event like this, and it is really meaningful to them. I wonder why SIP has not looked into producing more videos to continue telling the stories of their meaningful and great events. It does not matter whether they host the event or hold it. Content is KING!

Here is the video I talked about:

So, suggestions: (Or I should say peer suggestions)

  • Create a YouTube Account, of course.
  • Continue telling the stories about related events like St. Jude's one. Make a story line on YouTube. Maybe 1 video in 1 month to start the conversations. Then 2 videos in 1 month to increase the level of conversations. (Conversations here are talk, discussion, etc. of audiences and SIP about the event and anything related).
  • Enrich Facebook and Twitter with these videos and try to start conversations as well.
  • Parallel with this story line, there can also be another story line which tells a different story. This story is about SIP from the start to the present and then to the future. There should not be too hard to set goal for this story line: as many as needed to tell the timeline of SIP. These videos should be treated as video diary, not commercial videos. Remember that it's story telling not commercial advertisement.
  • After 6 months, SIP then can start produce such series like "unveiling tonight chef's special dessert", "tips for heavenly delicious appetizers", etc. It's like producing such a video-oriented cook book.
Videos should not be too long. Story telling ones should stay below 5 minutes. Cook book ones should stay below 7 or 8 minutes.

These videos will be so rich, and powerful that they might play such important role in gathering information and conversation in other social media channels.

I'd love to put more in-depth suggestions; however, I really need a little bit more insight ideas, thoughts from SIP. Hence, I think I am going to ask for conducting an informational interview with SIP manager at either locations - just to reach that insight thoughts from SIP.

I hope you enjoy my post!
