Content Assessment: Big Fish Games on Social Media Sites

In my previous blog, I gave a short description on what Big Fish Games is all about, through their website and their presence in various social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube. Furthermore, in this blog, I will be assessing primarily about their content on their website and on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.

Big Fish Games' website has a great layout and an interesting page design. They have done a great job in planning what is relevant and eye-catching to their customers. Generally, what is important for a website is the feel and look of it, which makes either a good impression or a bad one. Nowadays especially, it is crucial to have a professional and well-managed website, in order to convey a positive image. A poorly managed website may come off as neglected and can even decrease the company's image. Personally, I think that Big Fish Games' really carves out the right message by giving exactly what their customers would like to see. They are up-to-date especially when it comes to the Easter Holiday, they had changed their background that is associated with Easter. On top of that, they put a banner promoting Easter and gave out a "BUY 1 GET 1 FREE" deal on their main page. Being in the game industry, it is important to have an intriguing visual display that replicates the right message when promoting their games. They do an excellent job at engaging customers in their slideshows about current games and promote them seamlessly. The whole website is made to be as user-friendly and as easy as possible for their customers to navigate. On the left hand side of the website, it shows all game genres so that it is very simple for the customers to find out which games are suited best to their taste. Overall, I would grade Big Fish Games' website as having top-notch, relevant, and interesting content.

Next I would like to move onto their Facebook, which has 113,961 likes and 2,178 users talking about it. Not only limited to one Facebook page, they also have Big Fish Games all around the world. From BigFish Games France, to Japan, Italy, Brazil, Denmark, and Netherlands. They are pushing their company globally, not just in the United States. It shows that they are constantly growing and have more interactivity with their customers. Their Facebook page is simple, yet consists of interesting and relevant content. They have features like photo sections, like pages, stuck in a game, and contests and promotions in their top page. What I like about the content that Big Fish Games provides, is that they have a stuck in a game section, where they show a walkthrough for every game that their customers are struggling with. Facebook is a place where Big Fish Games can focus on their customers needs and also interact with their customers, ultimately resulting in better relationships and stronger customer loyalty. They are also consistent in all social media platforms, they posted content about their Easter promotion on their website as well as their Facebook. They are constantly interacting, replying to questions and addressing all concerns to their customers. Not to mention, they also have the 80/20 rule in place. The 80/20 rule is important, because it shows that the company is not too commercial and still cares about other topics, not just promotions. They also post about the weather and wishing everyone a Happy Easter!

Moving on to their Twitter page, Big Fish Games has 3,031 Tweets, following 415, and 12,865 followers. They are continuously updating and are consistent in all of their social media platforms. They also have their official Big Fish Games page in the U.S. and in other countries as well. Just like their Facebook they are attracting users from all around the world. One huge factor that they possess is having a special twitter account that focuses primarily in marketing to the iPhone, which is the Big Fish Games iPhone page. They are really good in finding out specifically who their target audience is. One of the main things I like about their Twitter page is their signature fish background, relating to their company name that really stands out and catches your eye. The content that Big Fish Games has on their Twitter is similar to Facebook but is in a shorter format due to the Tweet post. They are actively posting on Twitter as well as Facebook.

The next social media platform that I will be discussing about is Big Fish Games Youtube. Big Fish Games has been on Youtube since 2006 and is constantly managing their Youtube channel. By going to their Youtube, I discovered that their most recent activity was from today, also they post a preview of their newest games each week. They have a total of 1,260 videos on their Youtube page. With over 2,479 subscribers on their Youtube channel.
