Facebook has become a phenomenon in the world. Since it was first appearance in 2003, formerly known as the 'Facemash', it has become a controversy. 'Facemash' was originally a blog created by Mark to let the students of Harvard compared 2 people side-by-side and choose who is 'hotter'. Few days after the launch of the Facemash, the website was closed by the university because the illegal action that did by Mark to establish this website. (For more information, you can read the 'History of Facebook or watch the movie The Social Network).

Later, Mark decided to upgrade the website and make it into what is known now as Facebook. Facebook become worldwide used by the people. Originally, what is intended for a school blog, Facebook has become a social network that is widely used. People use Facebook not just for fun anymore, but also to get connected to people they know all over the world. There are so changes that Facebook has brought into our social life. You could find the latest news/hits/ads, you could earn money through it, companies do their marketing product and you could even find your long lost relatives from Facebook.

However, not all country shows support toward Facebook. China, for example, has censored Facebook due to political issues. Not only Facebook, China has censored couple social media network as well, for example Twitter, YouTube and also Wikipedia.
