Facebook and revolution!

Social media is mean to share. Sharing power is bigger than it was ever before. Facebook is an iconic product among current social media. Facebook believe in this sharing power. However, it has been used in a way that it never been design to use -- revolution. For example, arab spring started from egypt. it is an revolution spread out from Egypt to all over the middle eastern area. People can arrange protest as well as revolution using Facebook. Facebook plays a huge role in the revolution in Arab.

I believe that Facebook it not design for the use of taking over government and revolution, but it is doing it right now. Some people think it is a revolution for democracy. However, i think it may cause many problems. People care about their own little benefit and ignore the big picture of the whole country. People have disappointment to government, and they also have short vision. For example, If Iran wants Atomic bomb, their people disagree. They will use Facebook in whatever way to stop the government stop building atomic bomb. But having Atomic bomb is a huge chip for Iran when they are negotiating with other countries. Personally i don't thin having atomic bomb is a right thing to do, but Facebook made people have more power than they can ever have.

Perhaps, that is also the reason China doesn't have Facebook. the Chinese government blocked Facebook nation wide. Chinese government is not stable at the moment. Facebook can be easily used as a tool for revolution. Many people don't like communism. A revolution in China would be a good thing to see. However, China is too big to have a revolution. Chinese economy is deeply related to the US economy and the EU. A collapse of the Chinese government will result another round of world economic crisis. That is the least i want to see.

In another way, i think democracy is easy for people to use. And Facebook is helping these extreme people taking over the government. I truly hope that people can really think individually, before they take action. Social media and sharing power made people blind!
