My project client, Childhaven, has been a safe and caring place for
babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers since 1909 here in Seattle. They
are trying to heal old hurts and nurture young lives using innovative, proven
approaches to child development in a therapeutic day care environment. Childhaven also try to break the cycle
of abuse and neglect and create a foundation for lifelong loving relationships.
Childhaven has a very good looking
website which is full of content, and it also has a place to show what is going
on with Childhaven on the top page.
There are two ways to get informed from this Non-Profit Organization,
one is e-newsletter and another is Facebook. I would say they are mainly communicating with their
supporters on Facebook due to the fact that I haven’t got any email from them
yet. Childhaven also share some
video related to child support on Facebook, but very few people liked
those. Now, Childhaven has 1,031
likes on Facebook, and I wonder why all the supporters do not clike “like” to
help it spread to their Facebook friends.
My sister also has Non-Profit Organization back in my hometown, Sapporo,
and she gets nearly 100 likes almost everytime she posts something on her
Facebook wall or her organization wall although her followers on Facebook is
even less than Childhaven’s.
The reason why people support
Childhaven is obviously for kids.
We want "SMILES" from every child in the world as one of Childhaven
supporters. Therefore, I would
like to recommend having “one day one smile” photos on Facebook. They can also describe what they are
doing on a daily basis to their supporters through uploading smiley faces.
