Jones soda could benefit from
applying the 80/20 rule. For every 10 posts, 8 should be helpful to their
customers and 2 should be self-promotion. Currently, most of the Jones Soda
posts are self-promotion. Although their content is interesting and seems to
resonate with their followers I think there could be an improvement of non
promotional posts
Facebook
For the past few months, most of
content on the Jones Soda Facebook page has been centered around their Jones RV
campaign. Jones
employs two Jones Soda RVs which travels the West and East coasts of handing
out soda and talking to the people on the streets. Although most of the
pictures posted on their wall are posted by Jones Soda. They
feature people interacting with their brand but not so much people posting their
own pictures. Also, many of their posts focus on promoting their custom label
program which allows users to upload their own pictures as labels to put on
their Jones Soda.
Twitter
Jones Soda has a lot of cool
small online promotions going on through Twitter. Below are a few examples of
how Jones Soda engages with their followers.
Recommendations
I would like to see Jones soda
team up with CollegeHumor, a popular site for funny videos and blog
posts for college age demographic. If they could integrate their products
into their videos, it could really give Jones Soda additional exposure in the
online circuit. This would also help the Jones Soda brand be associated with
other platforms of content besides their own promotions.
