Internet Segmentation, Target Marketing Strategies and Internet Client Resourse Mangement (CRM)

Internet segmentation and marketing segmentation are similar.  In order to effectively target a specific market it is first imperative to understand what it is that that target market values.  The positioning strategy must focus on a product or service differentiation strategy.  The differentiation strategy must be valued by those consumers in the target market.
Targeting marketing strategies are necessary to be employed to insure that the money and effort that is spent on marketing is specific to a customer that is interested in the product or service.  Further, that customer must feel as though the marketing campaign is reliable, realistic, and relative to his or her personal life.  This is because customers that identify with a product or service are much more likely to choose to purchase that service.
Internet CRM:  Client Resource Management, or the concept of knowing who exactly is using or purchasing your product or service, is necessary to retain customers.  For example, if you know the birthday of your clients it is a good idea to send a birthday special.  Internet CRM is a great tool to categorize and organize previous clients and prospective clients.
