Organization that I "LIKED" on Facebook

There is one non-profit organization that I “liked” on Facebook though, which is the ‘Invisible Children’ page. ‘Invisible Children’ is a charity organization that tries to improve the living condition of children in Africa. This includes education, nutrition, building new homes and health center for the kids. Their recent campaign, “Stop Kony 2012” is a powerful video that asks help from everyone to stop the top wanted criminal, Kony, who is the leader of the LRA. He takes kids from their homes, gives them a gun, and teaches them to mutilate, torture, shoot and even kill their own parents. The girls are forced to become sex slaves and whoever tries to run away will be killed.
The reason behind why I want to keep myself updated with this organization is because the “Stop Kony 2012” campaign is so powerful and moving. It opens my mind to a whole new perspective on how the children in Africa really lived. With more people liking their page, it shows support to the organization. As well as a major contribution to help letting the people who around the world and the children in Africa that there are people out there who care. I was really touched when I watched the video that I wanted to help in the campaign of stopping Kony. I want to join the upcoming events or seminar that can help me to understand more about the issue.
Hence, I do not regard their statuses as advertisement, but rather as an update on the progress of the campaign and the follow up on the children in Africa. It is a simple way for me to be able to gain access to the information instantly. By knowing the current news, I can share this knowledge to my friends and invite them to participate as well with me, as part of one voice for ‘Invisible Children.’ I do not mind clicking the “like” button on Facebook if that means I can save lives.
